Year 8/9 Art, Craft & Design Trip to The Knitting and Stitching Show
The year 8 and year 9 Art, Craft and Design students visited The Knitting and Stitching Show, Harrogate last week.
The Show brought together a host of inspiring gallery exhibitions, showcasing the work of some of the leading names in textiles. The students were able to see up close, the work of textile artists they have looked at in class.
The students watched art and craft demonstrations on batik, wet felting, loom weaving, machine knitting and mono-printing, to name a few. They also enjoyed the opportunity to get ‘hands on’ at the Embroiderers’ Guild stand, where they contributed to the World’s Longest Embroidery which is over 650 metres in length!
